Mark Ellis has been a familiar voice in local broadcasting and motorsports for decades. He began his radio career with WNLB in 1979, working nearly every on-air shift until 1985, when he stepped away from daily broadcasting to focus on the family business. Even then, his passion for racing never slowed. In 1981, he launched "Mark Ellis On The Raceline," a weekly racing program that remained a favorite with fans through 1992.
In the early 1990s, Mark expanded his motorsports coverage by co-hosting WZBB's live broadcasts from the Martinsville Speedway during its race weekends. Over the years, his coverage grew to include numerous tracks and racing events throughout the region.
After retiring from the family business, Mark has dedicated even more time to the sport he loves, continuing to bring fans closer to the excitement of racing through his broadcasts, interviews, and on-location coverage. His lifelong enthusiasm for motorsports and commitment to local broadcasting have made him a trusted and respected voice among racing fans.
